Union Budget: Oil ministry seeks Rs 40,000-crore LPG subsidy for state oil companies

India Budget: The oil ministry has requested a Rs 40,000 crore cooking gas subsidy from the finance ministry to compensate state-run oil marketing companies for selling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) below international prices, which has significantly impacted their earnings. In the previous fiscal year, the government had provided Rs 22,000 crore for this purpose.
